A warehouse scale social free roam VR provider is looking to raise £600,000 to support its plans for growth across the UK.

meetspaceVR, who recently launched new venues in Thatcham (nr Reading) and Manchester, have currently raised £671,888 from 167 investors on Seedrs.

The business was founded in 2018 and has gone on to introduce world leading free roam gaming experiences to over 87,000 people from the current footprint of 5 sites. According to their Seedrs profile revenues have reached £1.3m in the past 12 months.

The funds are being used to continue their national expansion and to upgrade existing sites with the latest in technology (already installed at their Thatcham and Manchester venues).

“We have been blown away by the support from our customers in not only reaching our target but blasting through it in less than 24hrs! It was during the lockdowns that we decided to do something for our customers, as they were buying gift cards when we were closed!” said John Lilley, CEO of meetspaceVR.

“This extra investment will solidify our position as the leading provider of this new brand of competitive socialising entertainment. Think you know VR? We have helped thousands to think again. VR can be innately antisocial, but warehouse scale free roam VR allows you to tackle missions with up to 8 of your friends.”

“Crowdfunding with Seedrs was the perfect answer to allow our customers the chance to invest, become shareholders and be part of meetspaceVR’s journey to becoming a national brand.”

meetspaceVR has recently surpassed 4 million minutes of game play since starting in Nottingham in October 2018. meetspaceVR have announced the next arena scale free roam game will be in partnership with another Nottingham based business, Games Workshop with a Warhammer 4000: Space Marine IP.

The Seedrs campaign still has 24 days remaining. If your interested, hop over to Seedrs to check meetspaceVR out.
